Do you believe that there are people that a lucky and others unlucky? Are there people that just can’t seem to catch a break where negative events seem to come one after another? Are there others where seemingly bad things happen, but they always come out on the other side as good or better than they went in?

I believe this is true, and I live on the unlucky side of the tracks. Of course, this bad luck isn’t non-stop, but it is frequent enough where I notice it.

Perhaps you notice this too in your life. These patterns of positive or negative events that occur regularly.

If I didn’t have bad luck, I’d have no luck at all

The latest event in my ongoing unlucky string of events has to do with my daughter. As background, a couple of months ago she was using my car while she look was having her car repaired. Long story short, I got a knock on the door at 1:30 AM and was greeted by the police telling me that the car was stolen and then abandoned.

It turned out the car was a total loss. Then to make matters worse her car was more expensive to fix than it was worth, so she sold it leaving her with no car, and…
